In my former role as Senior Producer at UChicago Creative, I led the video production on the Inside the Lab series, which explores some of the university’s 200+ labs and features researchers doing fascinating and vital work. SD2 VIDEO for Aptima, Inc. and their client, DARPA.
ROLE: PRODUCER, DIRECTOR, EDITOR - freelance
Creating this video involved translating a very complicated novel scientific process. I worked with the client on the narrative, then directed the production during a single road trip that allowed me to capture interviews in Toledo, OH, Durham, NC, Washington D.C., Arlington, VA, NYC, and Boston, MA.
DUKE LEMUR CENTER visitor center video.
Role: Producer, writer, host, editor
This video currently greets all visitors to the Duke Lemur Center in Durham, North Carolina just before tours in the visitor center. It's been viewed by many thousands of guests at this point. It's one of my favorite pieces I've worked on.
It’s In Our Core UChicago College Campaign Video.
ROLE: PRODUCER, DIRECTOR, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago College
I helped develop the concept of this college campaign, suggesting the idea of relating it to UChicago’s unique “core curriculum.” This piece features my still photography work via the student portraits. I also created the layered animation effect in the edit.
PHILIP GLASS feature.
ROLE: PRODUCER, DIRECTOR, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago
I produced this video for UChicago Creative and our client, UChicago’s alumni office. The video was meant to honor Alumni Medal recipient Philip Glass. I also filmed the event where Glass watched this video in person, so it was a very special treat to be able to make this piece for an American musical icon.
MAVIS STAPLES social media video.
ROLE: PRODUCER, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago
I edited this video for UChicago Creative when we were asked to cover a special concert for high school students performed by Mavis Staples. This video was formatted for social media and was used to encourage viewers to watch the full concert cut. I was excited to be able to film Staples back stage and on stage during the show.
DEBATE: IT’S IN OUR CORE campaign video.
ROLE: DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago College
PATIENT TESTIMONIAL video.
ROLE: DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago - Lindau Lab.
I produced this video for a series featuring individuals sharing their experience with loss of breast sensation after mastectomy. Heather shared her amazing and touching story with us, to help educate others facing the procedure on what questions to ask their physicians and surgical team.
LEADERSHIP AND SOCIETY INITIATIVE recruitment video.
ROLE: DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago Graham School
I produced this video while at UChicago Creative for our client, who was seeking to recruit their first class of “LSI fellows.” We were proud to learn that the video was a success.
QUANTUMANIA news feature.
ROLE: DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR
CLIENT: The University of Chicago News
When Marvel’s movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was released, UChicago students got access to a pre-release screening. The university news office decided to create this feature to explain some of the science “featured” in the film. We had fun filming this one on green screen, and using some promotional stills provided to us.
